Caparello vs Auimatagi Jr Fight in Bendigo Stadium at 13 March 2021

A surprising announcement has been made recently with Mose Auimatagi Jr replacing Robert Berridge to take on Blake Caparello on March 13.

This fight will be the Co-Main event of the evening with the main event being Michael Zerafa vs Anthony Mundine for the WBA Oceania Middleweight title. New Zealand born Australian boxer Cherneka Johnson will also be on the card as she takes on Bianca Elmir for the first evet Women’s WBA Gold World Bantamweight title.

It is unknown if the Caparello vs Auimatagi Jr fight will be televised in New Zealand but if it does, it is a must-see fight.

Caparello vs Auimatagi Jr

It is unknown why Berridge is no longer competing, but when an opportunity rises, Mose Auimatagi Jr takes the call. This is another massive opportunity for Mose that can get him ranked in the top 15 especially since his opponent is ranked in multiple organisations, but this time at a more appropriate weight division. Mose put up one hell of a fight against David Light for the WBO Oriental Cruiserweight title, but David was simply too strong, too big and too good for Mose. With his strength and his boxing skills, he will be a big challenge for Black Caparello.

The fight will be for Blake Caparello WBA Oceania Light Heavyweight title. Originally Blake was going to take on Robert Berridge in a much-anticipated rematch that we have all been dying to watch. There is a rumour the Berridge would be fighting on the Parker vs Fa undercard but I believe its highly unlikely.

Blake Caparello is currently ranked 3rd in the WBA, 9th in the WBO, 10th in the WBC and 16th on Boxrec. Blake so far has successfully defeated 6 different New Zealanders so far including Robert Berridge, Reece Papuni, Lance Bryant and more. For New Zealand pride it is a must-win for Mose against Blake. Blake is a former World Champion challenger when he fought for the WBO World light heavyweight title back in 2014 against Sergey Kovalev. He is also a former IBO World Champion, Victoria State, Australian National, WBFound Australasian, Interim WBC OPBF, two time WBA PABA and a WBO Asia Pacific Champion. A massive list of accomplishments that not allot of boxers can say that have won.
